About Hulun Huir

Situated in the northeastern part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hulun Huir City borders Heilongjiang Province to the east and shares boundaries with Mongolia and Russia to the southwest and northwest.Hulun Huir highlights beautiful natural scenery as well as the exotic customs of Mongolia and Russia. Most of the grassland areas in the south Hulunbuir have developed perfect tourism. Tourists can ride horses, shoot arrows, stay overnight in yurts and taste delicious beef and mutton. TheHulun Huir Prairie with clear blue sky and lush pasture is one of the “World’s Four Largest Prairies”, offering a fabulous grassland photography experience. Besides the wonderful grassland experience, Greater Khingan Mountains is worth special visits as the mountains flame with azaleas in May and are dyed with different colors in September.

Also, the grand Nadam Convention held from July to August should not be missed. The convention includes traditional sports events, such as wrestling, horse racing, and tug of war. Wonderful performances like martial arts also will be showed. The best time to visit Hulunbuir is mid to late May and mid to late September when the temperature is suitable and visitors do not need to endure mosquito bite.
